Tapestry of Stars

This is a piece I wrote last year. Years earlier I lost the love of my life. It took years before I could express myself. And, to be honest, no level of creativity can express the true horrors of the tragedies that we experience. The grieving process eventually softens the blow with the inevitable acceptance that we must allow… and then the creative process picks up again.

At least, that seems to be what happened to me. I suppose this song was born out of loneliness and the understanding that I must begin life anew.

I contemplated the process of relationships… what I had done before in my life, and wonder if I can do it again. In reminiscing, and writing these lyrics, I was forced to relive beautiful past experiences and once again feel the regret that my future with her will never be.

I actually can’t listen to this song very often because, for me, it brings back intense grief. But, for fresh ears, I think the song elicits a positive and hopeful message for romantics.

It is truly a strange paradox that a song could give hope for some and sadness for others. Maybe, when I find someone again, …. I will find the joy and hope in this piece that was actually intended.

Please enjoy.
